Poster Talk-and-Walk

Posters are part of the steirischer herbst’s long history, and they have not infrequently provoked headline-grabbing scandals. steirischer herbst ’21 is reviving this tradition with ten artist’s posters.

The Poster Talk-and-Walk examines the medium through the ages and concludes with a demonstration of historic production methods.

The Poster Talk-and-Walk includes:

→  Talk at the Visitor and Press Center and Café, Murgasse 6
Presentation of the ten current artist’s posters and a retrospective selection of ten original posters from the steirischer herbst archive

→  Walk to DruckZeug (former book printing shop), Annenstraße 19
Tour of the print shop and presentation of historic printing techniques

This format focuses on the poster as a central element of visual propaganda as well as the area of tension between permissible content and artistic freedom.
