Christoph Schlingensief
Die Grazer Aktionen – Erinnerungen, Kontexte, Gegenwart

Last summer, shortly after the first lockdown, in an atmosphere of general uncertainty, an unusual, multilayered project took place at the Forum Stadtpark. Christoph Schlingensief: Die Grazer Aktionen – Erinnerungen, Kontexte, Gegenwart (The Graz Actions—Memories, Contexts, Present) became the important event.

One year later, the originators of the project present a book that lets us experience the project once again. With the addition of previously unpublished material by Schlingensief, as well as performances, films, and an exhibition, the book demonstrates Schlingensief’s relevance for artistic-political activism.

The film A Voice That Shook the Silence by Bettina Böhler profiles the life and work of director and artist Christoph Schlingensief and presents incredible material from four decades of cultural and political discourse.

The book Sich erinnern heißt vergessen (To Remember Means to Forget)—published by Martin Baasch, Claudia Gerhäusser, and Heidrun Primas—was produced with the participation of the project’s protagonists and will be published in 2021 by the Forum Stadtpark Verlag.
